Mantel clock in Vase shape

Empire

Beautiful French Empire Vase mantel clock with two swan heads as "ears".
Parts of the case are golded and the "belly" has a beautiful greenish patina. The dial is unrestored and has minor damage around the right winding hole. The hands are in Brequet shape.
The pendulum lens with a squirrel in a circle is particularly nice.

Clockwork with cord regulation for the pendulum and a locking wheel for the striking mechanism, which strikes a beautiful bell every full and half hour. In the photos you see one of the original springs with the date 1806 on it.

You can also find the same clock in “Encyclopédie De La Pendule Francaise” page 378 and in “die Französische Uhr” by Elke Niehüser on page 267.

Dating around 1806
Empire period.
Dimensions HxWxD: 40 x 13 x 13 cm. (foot sizes)
