Germain Pecquet à Paris
Lovely small lantern clock with striking mechanism and alarm.
The mirror (middle part of the dial) is beautifully engraved with floral motifs and signed with "Germain Pecquet à Paris".
This clockmaker is listed in Tardy`s Dictionaire des Horlogers Francais. He died in 1731.
Beautiful birdcage shape Clockwork with verge escapement (short pendulum).
Day runner with striking mechanism which is regulated by a locking wheel and only strikes on the whole hours.
The drive is done by means of knob cords with two larger weights and two smaller counterweights.
Clock hangs on a bracket and pins, the so-called "Hook and Spikes.
Dating clock ca. 1710 - 20. period Louis XV.
