Mercury pendulum
Large elegant French glass mantel clock with heavy brass frames and thick, faceted glass. It has doors on both the front and back to operate the movement and pendulum, wind it, and set the time.
The brass case parts have been cleaned and lacquered.
The enameled dial is in beautiful condition and set in a beautifully crafted, gilded bezel.
The large movement is monogrammed with the characters "A.1" and strikes half-hourly on a finely chiming round gong and has a heavy mercury pendulum for temperature compensation.
The large case has a beautiful, open, and sleek appearance, fitting into almost any interior.

Dates to the late 19th century, Louis III period.
