One-hand clockwork with verge escapement, short pendulum at the back. Heavy and large clock, weighs almost 14 kg! (excluding weights and bracket)
Engraved / signed in the mirror with "Plassiardet à Pont Audemer"
and a beautiful sun with sun rays, symbolizing the dawn. The date 1728 is engraved in the four corners of the dial back.

Satyr is a mythical creature, in the ancient Greeks a forest and mountain demon, is depicted as a grotesque person with trotters, horns, hooves and a tail. The satyrs belong to the voluptuous retinue of the wine god Dionysos and are the personification of the gross sensual instincts.
